DraftKings is an American daily fantasy sports and gambling company. Founded in 2012 by Jason Robins, Matt Kalish, and Paul Liberman, the company is now publicly traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
The platform offers a variety of gambling products, including daily fantasy sports, a sportsbook, and an online casino in jurisdictions where it is legally permitted. Its sportsbook offers both pre-game and live, in-game betting markets.
DraftKings is licensed to operate its products in numerous U.S. states and is one of the largest operators in the North American gambling market.
I used to place most of my DraftKings bets before the game started. I’d find a line that looked decent, put the bet in and hope I had read things correctly. After a while, I realised I actually preferred waiting.
Basketball was where I noticed the biggest difference. If I wasn’t happy with the pre-game line, I’d watch the first few minutes and see how things developed. Sometimes the live number moved closer to what I had in mind, and that was usually when I felt better about getting involved.
The harder part was learning not to force it. Live odds move constantly, so there’s always something tempting on the screen. If I never saw a number I liked, I eventually got comfortable just skipping the bet.
I still tried player props and the occasional parlay, but I enjoyed live betting more. Watching the game first gave me some context, and my bets felt less like guesses made simply because tip-off was approaching.
I also got my account verification and security settings sorted early. That became useful when I finally wanted to withdraw because I wasn’t scrambling around trying to fix basic account details with money already waiting.
What I liked during the withdrawal process was being able to follow the status of my request. I didn’t have to sit there wondering whether anything was happening. I could check the progress and give it time, knowing the actual payout speed could depend on the method I used.
I was careful with promotional credits too. I didn’t automatically count everything displayed in my account as money ready to withdraw, which saved me from having the wrong expectations at cash-out time.

I’m Nattie, and I’m a self-confessed hockey addict. I’ve decided to post this DraftKings review as I’ve been using the site for a while now, and found consistently better odds here than on any other sportsbook.
When I first signed up I got $150 in free bets just for betting $5 which was really cool, especially as the Stanley Cup playoffs were getting underway at the time. I managed to pick up a few odds boosts occasionally and DraftKings gave me another free bet for the final.
I did download the app, mainly so I could add money to my account at my convenience and being able to deposit as little as $5 each time suited me well. Having the app also meant I could keep up with the action when I was at work, and it was surprisingly easy to use.
I even took a look around the casino a couple of times, which is something I rarely bother with and that looked pretty cool as well, although I didn’t actually get around to playing any games to be honest.
One thing I really liked was the fact that DraftKings doesn’t focus only on the NHL, I could also bet on college hockey games, and follow the European leagues too, meaning plenty of off season scope.
Although I guess my experience with DraftKings is a bit more limited than most other people’s, I couldn’t really fault anything here, and I won’t be looking around for any alternatives that’s a dead cert.

DraftKings can look slightly overwhelming at first because there is so much happening, but it doesn’t take very long before the fantasy side starts making sense.
I like having different contest types available because it means I don’t have to approach every game in exactly the same way. Sometimes I just want something small and straightforward rather than spending ages building around one massive contest.
The player selection side is probably what keeps it interesting. You can’t simply choose every star you want, so you actually have to think about where to spend your budget and where you are willing to take a chance.
That is also the frustrating part of fantasy, of course. One player having an awful night can destroy a lineup that looked great beforehand.
The app itself feels busy, but not unusable. Once I know exactly which contest I want, navigating becomes much easier.
Overall, I like DraftKings because there is enough variety to stop it becoming repetitive. I wouldn’t recommend jumping straight into large contests without understanding the scoring first though. Starting smaller makes much more sense.

As a sports fan, I’ll contribute to the DraftKings reviews of their sportsbook. I browsed for an hour before joining and trying it. DraftKings requires phone verification, along with four digits of your SSN. Bit of a bore, but use your full name and address to minimize the chance of errors or issues and you should be fine.
The DraftKings help center didn’t give any minimums, while withdrawal times can be from 24 hours upwards. They’re vague about accepted methods in each state, so you just need to check once you’ve signed up. I claimed $150 in bonus bets with my first $5 bet at DraftKings. I had to sign up to read the T&Cs though. Those ought to be readable without joining.
The DraftKings support center loads slowly with teeny results that can be tricky to read. There’s a chat window, but that took a while to load too (it’s a chatbot).
As for the crux of the thing, I found popular sporting events at the top of the menu, but browsed the A-to-Z list as well. They’ve got some championship pages, but they only apply to a few sports. Check some news for your favorite sport at the bottom of the main page for that sport. They’ve got unusual betting options too, like not facing break points in tennis. DraftKings Social is nice too if you want to chat with other sports fans.
See if you can live with the slooowww help center before joining DraftKings. You might eventually need it. Verification is nothing unusual – sort that first to make life easier. I’ve used DraftKings since, but it suffers a bit from the complexity I’ve seen on a lot of sportsbooks. It could be more user friendly and faster to load at times.

I used DraftKings for around three months and had a fairly normal experience overall. Most of my betting was on NFL and NBA, with some MLB and soccer. The app was the part I liked most, but there were also a few things that became noticeable after using it regularly.
Getting Started
Signing up was quick and I could deposit and browse markets right away. There is a lot packed into the sportsbook, so it took some time to get used to player props and alternate lines. I had no major KYC issues, but I’d complete verification early rather than wait until withdrawal.
Betting Experience
Player props were what I used most. DraftKings has plenty of alternate lines, and SGPs were easy to build. Live betting was also good, especially during NFL and NBA games, with plenty of markets available. The only annoyance was lines moving while I was building a bet.
Deposits and Withdrawals
My debit card deposits were immediate. I later used PayPal for a withdrawal, which went through without any issue. I did not experience a long account hold myself, but this is one area I would be more careful with after reading other players’ experiences. I would rather test a small withdrawal before leaving a large balance on any sportsbook.
Promotions and Support
I used the welcome offer and a couple of odds boosts. They were decent, but I checked the odds, eligible bets, expiry, and bonus-bet rules before using them. I also used the in-app chat for a basic question. It was fine and I got an answer without much back and forth. I’d be more careful with bigger withdrawal or verification issues and keep the support messages saved.
Would I Use DraftKings Again?
Yes. The sportsbook itself worked well for the way I bet. I liked the prop selection, SGPs, and live betting. My main caution would be keeping the balance reasonable and understanding the promotion and withdrawal terms before putting more money into the account.

The deposit process on this app is instant, but getting my winnings out is a nightmare. I won a few hundred dollars and have been waiting days for it to hit my account.

I’ve been on DraftKings for a few weeks now and have gotten the hang of the basic bets, but it still feels like a maze sometimes. I’m trying to build same-game parlays, but it’s clunky and hard to see all the options at once. The “odds boosts” look great on the surface, but a lot of the best ones have small max bets. It’s not a bad app, but it’s definitely not as straightforward as I was hoping now that I’m past the intro bets.

DraftKings was one of the first sportsbooks I joined, many moons ago. I’ve even dipped my toes into the casino experience, too. I found the DraftKings reviews helpful when I was new around here, so here’s my little contribution. What stands out to me is that DK offers all the major sports events, like the NBA Playoffs, which is one of my faves.
One feature I found useful was the guides back when I was a new kid on the block. So, check those out if you’re thinking about joining. Oh, and the newcomer bonus of $150 in bonus bets is pretty great – believe the DraftKings user reviews on this one.
I use both the website and iPhone app, depending on where I’m betting from. The site is easy to use and certainly one of the better presented sportsbooks. I keep coming back to the app, though, especially when betting on live events. The stats for betting markets are integrated, which I find super helpful.
Something I want to point out, though, is you do need to be insistent with the chatbot, as it pushes back when you ask to speak with a real person. Just keep on at it, and you’ll be connected eventually – annoying, but I get there in the end. But I can definitely see why there’s a bunch of frustrations in the DraftKings ratings with it.
I have found payouts to be pretty great here, if I’m totally honest. I didn’t expect to have withdrawals of $1 approved, so… DK is definitely one for everyone. I stick with debit cards personally, but there are quite a few options like e-wallets, too.
Overall, I’m enjoying my time at DraftKings and the DraftKings app experience is next level, so I ain’t going anywhere soon.
