Polymarket

Polymarket is a prediction-market platform that historically allowed users (including those outside the U.S.) to trade outcomes of events in politics, culture, and other domains, using stablecoins or crypto. After facing regulatory restrictions in the U.S. in 2022 (including a settlement with the CFTC and being blocked from serving U.S. customers) for offering unregistered derivatives, Polymarket in July 2025 acquired QCEX (QCX LLC and its associated clearinghouse), a derivatives exchange and clearinghouse licensed by the CFTC, for US$112 million. That acquisition provides a path for Polymarket to legally return to the U.S. market under a regulated framework.
