Polymarket is a prediction-market platform that historically allowed users (including those outside the U.S.) to trade outcomes of events in politics, culture, and other domains, using stablecoins or crypto. After facing regulatory restrictions in the U.S. in 2022 (including a settlement with the CFTC and being blocked from serving U.S. customers) for offering unregistered derivatives, Polymarket in July 2025 acquired QCEX (QCX LLC and its associated clearinghouse), a derivatives exchange and clearinghouse licensed by the CFTC, for US$112 million. That acquisition provides a path for Polymarket to legally return to the U.S. market under a regulated framework.

Great app but needs fee transparency

If I were to score Polymarket, it would get a solid overall rating of 4.8/5. The app is one of the easiest to use. I like the notifications I get even when I’m not actively online. You can use the site too, but in my opinion, the app is a lot more convenient, especially if you’re like me who prefers trading on short-term crypto markets.

I did not sign up expecting a welcome bonus, since most prediction markets do not have one. But Polymarket had a trading bonus running when I registered, so I claimed it. I don’t think the offer is still valid right now, though some Polymarket reviews suggest otherwise. If you don’t find it, you’ll see the other reward programs. Personally, I take advantage of the liquidity rewards. Sometimes I refer players, though this is not a very reliable bonus, since you have no control over who registers with your link.

But trading was my goal, and I took full advantage of everything I found. Again, I focused on crypto, but dabbled in other event contracts. And there are several categories, so if you’re not into crypto, you have sports, politics, tech, and the likes. I loved how quickly orders were filled, cause this meant no waiting for long after placing an order.

I removed points because of its lack of a fee structure. I would really like to know how much I’m charged for trading BEFORE I even place the trade. Everything else is on point, and this is coming from someone who has traded for the longest time.

A prediction market that keeps things refreshingly simple

Polymarket feels completely different from the sportsbooks and crypto casinos I normally use. The first thing I noticed was how simple the layout is. There aren’t bright colours, huge promotional banners, or loads of things competing for my attention. I can open the site, find an event that I’m interested in, and see the current odds without having to dig through endless menus.
What keeps me coming back is the sheer variety of things I can bet on. I can find markets covering politics, elections, crypto, finance, crude oil price, technology, weather, cultures, geopolitics, and breaking news. The prices represent the market’s implied probability, so I find myself checking Polymarket even when I have no intention of placing a trade, simply because it’s an interesting way to follow what the market thinks will happen.
I also like the additional information available around some events. Events have a chat feature where players can share their thoughts. Additionally, certain events have a live chat, while others include relevant news feeds, which gives me more context before deciding whether I want to take a position.
The biggest adjustment for me was getting used to the Yes/No contract format and the Buy/Sell options. Using Polymarket isn’t as immediately familiar as placing a normal sports bet, but once I understood how the prices work, I found the system quite straightforward.
One thing worth noting is that Polymarket operates through different legal entities depending on the jurisdiction. Polymarket US is a CFTC-regulated designated contract market, while the international platform operates separately and is not regulated by the CFTC.
Overall, I rate Polymarket highly. The clean interface and unusual range of markets make it one of the most interesting platforms I’ve used. It simply takes you back to the basics.

great variety of prediction markets available

I really didn’t know anything about this site, other than it seemed like everyone was talking about it. When my friends started using it and telling me I needed to check it out since I always have an opinion about politics, I finally decided to download the app. That was three months ago, and now I’m making predictions about a whole range of topics!

The verification process was instant for me, and I didn’t even need to upload a driver’s license. A friend of mine said it took two days for him since he had to provide documentation.

I deposited $100 into my account using my debit card with no processing fees. I should note that I had a promo code, so I was able to get $20 in site credits. I was able to trade event contracts with the bonus and pull out my profits from those trades, but I couldn’t pull out the bonus itself. There wasn’t any rollover requirements attached to this bonus either, which was a nice surprise!

The thing that really stood out for me about this site is that there are SO MANY prediction markets available. I’ve since checked out other sites, and this one blows them all out of the water with all the markets. Plus there are a lot of users on the site too, which makes it easy to enter and exit contracts fast, that’s a huge plus, especially when you’re trying to quickly capitalize on a pricing trend!

In my opinion this is the best prediction market site. As I type this I’m sitting on a handful of short-term contracts, plus a few long-term ones that will settle at the end of the year.

great support but some setup hoops

Polymarket is the bees knees! You can buy and sell predictions here on pretty much any IRL event you can think of – from politics and economics, to if it’ll rain in NYC next week. This is the first prediction trading site I’ve used tbf, but I’m really happy so far – especially with Polymarket’s friendly support staff.

As other Polymarket reviews have said, there are a few hoops to jump through to get started at first. Mainly location and ID checks and stuff. But once I was in nobody ever bothered me again. Plus I got a $20 trading bonus when I dropped my first $10 deposit – which is sick because I’ve heard Kalshi and other prediction apps don’t have any bonuses.

The main reason I rate the site so highly is customer support. I reached out on day one of trading cuz I didn’t really get the rules about how event contracts settle. If you’re on the Polymarket app like I am, live chat is the easiest option for getting answers – staff have always replied to me instantly, and they’re really good at walking you through stuff if you don’t get the jargon.

Generally it’s all very beginner friendly though – I LOVE the color coded yes and no buttons on the binary contracts. And the graphs tracking up/down prices are easy to read, too.

If you’re gonna give it a go I’d suggest reading Polymarket’s “What is a Prediction Market” guide before you start, then asking live chat if you don’t understand anything. I didn’t realize that prices and percentages were the same at first, which was a bit of a learning curve the first time I traded.

Way more interesting than normal sports betting

Polymarket clicked with me because I already follow news and politics more than sports.

Instead of looking through football fixtures, I found myself checking questions about elections, economics and other events I was already reading about anyway. That made it feel less like traditional betting and more like putting a price on what I thought was likely to happen.

The probability format also makes sense quite quickly. If a market is trading around 60 cents, you can immediately see roughly how confident the crowd is.

The downside is that it can become very easy to convince yourself you know more than the market does. Reading a lot about something does not automatically mean you are right, and I had to remind myself of that.

I also think the platform is much more enjoyable when you stick to subjects you genuinely understand. Randomly jumping into markets just because they are moving fast seems like a good way to make bad decisions.

Still, I like the concept a lot. It feels completely different from opening another sportsbook with the same football markets.

    Read the Rules First

I made my first Polymarket trade because the question looked obvious to me. I bought a position, watched the probability move around for a few days, and felt pretty confident about how the market would eventually finish.

What I hadn’t paid enough attention to was the exact resolution wording.

Once the event was over, I found myself going back through the market rules to understand exactly what counted as the winning outcome. That was frustrating because I had focused more on predicting the event than reading how it would officially be settled.

I liked the trading side, though. Watching the price change and having the option to adjust my position made it more engaging than a normal fixed bet.

The withdrawal side made me more cautious. Moving funds out requires entering the correct wallet, token and network details, and recent complaints about delayed or failed withdrawals didn’t give me much confidence either.

Polymarket is interesting when the market rules are clear, but I learned not to trade based on the headline alone. I’d read every resolution condition first and avoid keeping more money there than necessary.

easy to use but no sign-up bonus

So far, so awesome at Polymarket

I spent a lot of time reading Polymarket reviews before giving it a go, and was initially a little concerned about the site’s ongoing regulatory issues. However, my experience of using Polymarket’s prediction markets has been 99.9% positive so far, so I’m hoping that continues.

Like a lot of users, my introduction to Polymarket was a little on the slow side, as I had to wait on the brand’s waitlist for a while before I was invited to join. This didn’t actually take as long as I thought, though, and I was genuinely excited when Polymarket reached out to let me know I was onboard.

Sadly, there wasn’t a Polymarket bonus for me to use when I registered, but I do know that the brand offers sign-up deals on occasion, so they could be worth looking out for. In the end, though, the lack of a Polymarket bonus didn’t affect my experience as a new trader – I just couldn’t wait to jump in and start making predictions.

Other Polymarket reviews often mention just how easy the site is to use, and I can definitely agree with that. The mechanics are ridiculously simple to get to grips with, so even as a totally inexperienced new user, I didn’t feel like there was a steep learning curve to overcome.

If you’re thinking of trying Polymarket, I say go for it. Sure, the site has got a little bad press in the past, but it does seem like things are different this time. And if I can give event trading a decent shot, you can too.

good verification speed but high fees

I’ve been on Polymarket a lot recently. It’s a prediction market app where you trade event contracts against other traders through an order book. Winning contracts settle at $1 and losing ones at $0, and you can sell your position before the event settles – nothing out of the ordinary here folks.

I signed up through Apple, verification went through Socure and I was approved within a few hours with no documents needed. Some people do get asked for ID or hit a manual review that takes a day or two though, also pretty standard so no complaints.

I put in $10 to qualify for the $20 trading credit bonus, but you have to use it as trading collateral and the funds only release after your position settles or gets liquidated. Their fees can vary based on contract price and quantity, and are highest around the $0.50 mark, but the order preview shows you exactly what you’ll pay before you confirm the contract.

Markets, prices and orders are all easy to find in the app with the profit and loss display on each contract showing exactly where you stand before you commit. You can also sell a contract before settlement, and I’ve been using that feature a lot.

I’d recommend getting your verification done before depositing, making sure your bonus is showing before you fund your account, reading each market’s resolution rules and checking the order preview for fees. I’d definitely use Polymarket again because their overall model and the ability to exit early give you more control than most prediction market sites I’ve tried.

    Polymarkets

    Operator: Polymarkets
    Product used: Prediction markets
How long I used it: 18 days

Polymarket is a decentralized, cryptocurrency-based prediction platform where players trade shares on the outcome of future events, ranging from politics and economic indicators to sports and pop culture. The CFTC does not regulate it, so it operates independently.

    Trading model:
Instead of playing against a bookmaker, you trade “Yes” or “No” on real-world event outcomes against other players. Instead of betting against a house or bookie, you trade peer-to-peer with other users. Share prices range from $0 to $1, representing the crowd’s estimated probability of an event happening. Correct predictions settle at $1, while wrong ones become worthless.

    It is web3-integrated:
The platform operates on the Polygon blockchain network. You fund your account using USDC, and the platform cannot access your funds without your wallet’s signature.

    Transaction fees:
Taker fee rates are tiered by category, ranging from 0.04 on politics and finance to 0.07 on crypto topics. Polymarket covers gas fees, so withdrawals carry no on-chain network costs.

    KYC and restrictions:
Standard identity verification is mandatory under US regulations, but they do not require mandatory KYC verification for its main global platform. However, due to regulatory bans, the platform restricts access in multiple countries, including France, Brazil, the UK, and Spain.

    Market dynamics:
The platform is highly popular among research and news enthusiasts. However, because odds are heavily driven by player liquidity, a tiny percentage of high-volume wallets often controls a massive share of the active market volume.

    My New News Habit

I didn’t expect Polymarket to change the way I followed news, but that’s probably what I noticed most after using it. Instead of opening a news app first, I found myself checking a market to see what people were actually putting money behind.

I started with a few topics I already followed, mostly crypto and major world events. The percentages made everything easy to read. If Yes was sitting at 35¢, I could immediately see that the market was giving that outcome roughly a 35% chance. It made browsing surprisingly addictive.

The fun part for me was coming back after some new information dropped. I’d open the same market and sometimes find the probability had moved quite a bit. That made my position feel less like a normal bet and more like something I wanted to keep checking.

I also liked that I wasn’t forced to wait until the final outcome. If my view changed or the price moved enough, I could sell my shares early. That gave me more freedom than simply making a prediction and waiting for the result.

One thing I learned quickly was to read the market rules before buying anything. The headline can look obvious, but the actual resolution conditions are what decide the winner.

Polymarket became interesting to me for a reason I didn’t expect. I enjoyed making predictions, but watching how quickly the crowd changed its mind was even better.
