The World Series of Poker began in 1970 at Binion’s Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas. It was founded by casino owner Benny Binion. The event has since grown into a global series where players compete in No-Limit Texas Hold’em and Omaha poker for gold bracelets, which are awarded to the winner of each event. In August 2024, the WSOP brand was acquired by NSUS Group, the parent company of GGPoker. WSOP’s official online events are hosted on the GGPoker platform.
